Who we are
Britain The Best is an independent production and coordination practice based in London. It is run by the same person as Japan Business Insider (thepmi.net) and Japan The Best (japanthebest.com). For data protection purposes we are the data controller for information submitted through this website.

What we collect, and why

This site uses no tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, and no third-party analytics that profile you across sites. It sets no cookies of its own.
Your work and portfolio
Images, portfolios and proposals you send are used only to answer your enquiry and, where you have agreed, to present to a specific third party. They are never passed on without your agreement, published, or reused. Where unreleased work is involved we will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
Our lawful basis
Consent, given when you tick the box on the enquiry form. You can withdraw it at any time. Where we hold records of paid engagements, we retain the minimum required by UK accounting obligations.
Processors we use
- Our hosting provider — forms are processed by a script on our own server and delivered by email. No third-party form service is involved.
- Our email provider — stores correspondence.
- Video conferencing software — for meetings only.
Where a processor sits outside the UK or EEA, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep things
- Enquiries: three years from the last exchange, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Images and portfolios: one year after the enquiry closes, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Payment records: six years, as required by UK tax law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict processing, or receive it in a portable format. Email hello@britainthebest.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will email people whose details we hold rather than quietly updating the page. The date at the top reflects the current version.
